Pioneers of the famous “Amarone method”
A rebirth of a past era, Bellalasta is the fruit of a passion project between three cousins to revive an old family tradition.
Set in the Valpolicella mountains, Bellalasta beautifully holds its position overlooking Verona. It was during one of the many lunches at Bellalasta that three cousins would decide to revive the family legacy and produce a wine that would convey the same wellbeing that they had always felt in the home.
Building on the expertise of each, the Bellalasta range was born.
Bellalasta is only the continuation of the family tradition, a new beginning to a legacy created by Antonluigi Gozzi, great grandfather to the current generation. In 1907, Antonluigi Gozzi would innovate by taking an existing sweet red wine, known as Recioto, and transforming it into a dry variant called Recioto Brusco, now famously known as Amarone. And it is in these footsteps that Bellalasta will grow its product line, offering a modern twist to a deep family tradition.
Of the 4 hectares of vineyards belonging to the Gozzi family, the choice of using only 1 hectare for the Bellalasta production was to ensure that only the highest quality of grapes would be used for the production of the wine.
History has also given an advantage to Bellalasta, as the vineyards have been able to mature and provide a high quality offering, ranging from the Valpolicella to the Amarone
Bellalasta wines have a special relationship to the land that surrounds them, and that is clearly felt in the balance of the taste and depth of aroma every single one of the bottles have.
The wines are a new experiment of an old tradition, so the great opportunity here was to take advantage of the knowledge but add a modern twist to the making of the bottles.
Every new vintage will be a new venturing, be it from the classic Valpolicella to the richness of the Amarone, passing through the freshness of a white wine.
Our goal is to bring a young and vibrant breath of fresh air into a tradition that will stay in the family for generations to come..
